Aftercare Instructions

1. Washing Your Wig

  • Frequency: Wash your wig after 8-10 wears to maintain its texture and shine.
  • Pre-Wash Prep: Gently detangle the wig using a wide-tooth comb or fingers. Start at the ends and work upwards. For curly units, avoid brushing when dry—use your fingers or a detangling brush.
  • Shampooing: Fill a basin with cool water. Add a sulfate-free, moisturising shampoo, designed for wigs or natural hair. Submerge the wig, gently swishing it for 5 minutes. Do not rub, scrub, or twist the hair.
  • Rinsing: Run cool water through the wig, allowing the shampoo to rinse out completely. Hold the wig under the tap in one direction to avoid tangling.
  • Conditioning: Apply a deep, hydrating conditioner evenly. Gently detangle while applying. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes for a deeper treatment, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
  • Drying: Pat the wig dry with a microfiber towel or an old t-shirt. Never wring or twist. Place the wig on a stand or mannequin head to air-dry naturally. Avoid direct sunlight or heat exposure while drying.

2. Styling Your Wig

  • Heat Styling: If your wig is heat-friendly, use tools like flat irons or curling wands at the lowest setting (below 180°C/350°F). Always apply a heat protectant beforehand. For human hair wigs, you can also set with non-heated curlers for a gentler approach.
  • Moisture Care: Keep your wig moisturised. For human hair wigs, apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner or lightweight serum to keep the strands hydrated.
  • Curly Units: For curly or wavy wigs, scrunch the curls gently and allow them to air dry or use a diffuser. Avoid heavy products that can weigh the curls down.

3. Wig Storage

  • Daily Storage: When not in use, store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape. Make sure the environment is dry and cool to prevent frizz or unwanted odours.
  • Long-Term Storage: For long-term storage, ensure the wig is clean and thoroughly dry. Place it inside our Dust Proof Storage Hanger, minimising friction and protecting the fibers.

4. Maintenance Tips

  • Detangling: For best results, detangle your wig before and after each wear, starting from the tips and working your way up to the roots.
  • Deep Conditioning: For human hair wigs, deep condition every 3-4 weeks to maintain moisture and softness. Synthetic wigs benefit from conditioning sprays designed for synthetic fibers.
  • Wig Longevity: Avoid over-washing your wig, as this can lead to dryness and decrease its lifespan. Aim to restyle your wig with heat sparingly, and always use proper wig care products.

5. Special Care for Lace Wigs

  • Lace Maintenance: Handle the lace front or closure gently to prevent tearing. When applying and removing glue or adhesives, use a lace-safe adhesive remover to avoid damage. Clean the lace gently with alcohol-free wipes to remove makeup or adhesive residue.
  • Glue-Free Option: For glue-free lace wigs, use adjustable straps or wig grips to keep the wig secure without damaging the lace or your edges.

Final Note: Treat your Lace Luxe wig like a valuable investment. Regular care and proper handling will extend its lifespan, keeping you looking effortlessly glamorous.
